Length: 12 / Weight: 224.8 grams. Engraved on back of bowl: "John Storer / French Spoliation Claim".
Monogram on top of handle: "JWL". John Storer was a merchant and philanthropist from Sanford, Maine who was the namesake for Storer College in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. I don't know the correlation between Storer and the French Spoliation Claim. This is the larger 12 ladle that features a stunning floral design that continues into the bowl. It's in very good to excellent condition with some of the usual age related light surface scratches you would find on antique or estate silver.
These can be very easily buffed out if you choose to do so. PLEASE NOTE: This is being shown as found and I did NOT polish it.Most of my buyers tell me not to polish the items. I use a macro setting to capture as much detail as possible. Keep in mind when using the zoom tool that you are seeing the item magnified and enlarged many times over.
